Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has crossed a point of no return with his vile and indefensible statement against the Pakistan Army, effectively ending his and his family's decades-long political career. The entire nation—from the public to active ministers, MNAs, and MPAs—has fiercely demanded an apology. Lawmakers like Ikhtiar Wali and Aun Chaudary have straight up condemned the remarks, standing firmly with the soldiers who sacrifice their lives on the border. The truth is that Maulana and his family have long attacked Pakistan's defenders while relying entirely on the comfort, sanctuary, and taxpayer money that funds their dynastic lifestyle. For decades, he and his relatives—including his sons Maulana Asad Mehmood and Maulana Asjad Mehmood, his brothers Maulana Atta ur Rehman, Maulana Lutf ur Rehman, Maulana Obaid ur Rehman, and Zia ur Rehman, alongside relatives like Haji Ghulam Ali and Zubair Ali—have rotated through powerful government slots purely on public money. They have continuously enjoyed official Blue Passports, free luxury stays at government rest houses, global travel, and unlimited fuel allowances drawn from the national treasury. This lavish lifestyle is paid for by the public, while a minister's or MNA's salary is mathematically 3-5 times more than a frontline soldier's salary. Yet, Maulana and his sons still have the audacity to claim that soldiers have been paid to lay down their lives. A soldier's sacrifice is priceless and cannot be bought with a paycheck. In my opinion, this is a clear case of dividing the nation and using state resources to degrade the martyrs' sacrifice. Maulana must be held accountable and dealt with strictly under the law if he does not apologize. The courts and the public must ensure that such inflammatory rhetoric does not go unchecked.
