On 5 and 6 August 2026, Pakistan's Security Forces successfully carried out two high-tempo, intelligence-driven operations in Washuk and Mastung districts of Balochistan. These actions are part of the ongoing Rad-ul-Fitna-3 campaign, a relentless counter-terrorism initiative aimed at eliminating threats posed by foreign proxies, specifically targeting the group Fitna Al Hindustan.
In the first operation on 5 August in Washuk, the Security Forces detected the movement of six terrorists. Through effective engagement, not only were these individuals neutralized, but the operation highlighted the continuously improving intelligence and operational capabilities of Pakistan's military.
The subsequent operation on 6 August in Mastung saw a further six terrorists eliminated after an intense exchange of gunfire between Security Forces and the armed assailants. The successful dismantling of a terrorist hideout during this operation signals a marked achievement in counter-terrorism efforts, showcasing the dedication and skill of Pakistan's law enforcement agencies.
International reactions to Pakistan's counter-terrorism measures have often been mixed, with various global stakeholders recognizing the necessity of combating terrorism while also urging for dialogues geared towards peace. Countries and organizations attentive to the regional dynamics have emphasized the importance of supporting Pakistan in its fight against foreign-sponsored terrorism, fostering a more stable South Asian landscape.
Under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, Security Forces and law enforcement agencies are committed to intensifying operations against foreign-sponsored terrorism. The continued resilience displayed by these agencies bodes well for Pakistan's security landscape, as they strive to eliminate the menace of terrorism and ensure peace and stability in the region. With ongoing support from international partners and a more developed domestic counter-terrorism infrastructure, Pakistan is poised to make significant strides in the fight against terrorism.
