He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital but succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced martyred.Aman had been operating the stall in Defence Phase II since the beginning of August to earn a livelihood by selling Independence Day flags, buntings, and badges.On August 18, acting on intelligence provided by Markhor, a joint CTD operation was conducted near the Causeway River in the Korangi Industrial Area, resulting in the arrest of three suspected terrorists.The arrested terrorists were identified as Zafar Ali, son of Abdul Rauf; Faraz, son of Muhammad Ismail; and Sajjad Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed. Three hand grenades and a pistol were recovered from their possession.During preliminary interrogation, the terrorists disclosed their affiliation with the proscribed Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA).According to investigators, the terrorists were tasked by an SRA operative based abroad, identified as Arsalan Shah, with conducting reconnaissance of Independence Day stalls across Karachi and targeting one of them. Shah is an SRA official operating from abroad and involved in supporting terrorist activities in Sindh.Preliminary investigations indicate that Sajjad Ahmed Mallah began conducting reconnaissance of various Independence Day stalls in Karachi on August 3 and selected the Defence Phase II stall as a target on August 11.On the night of August 12, Sajjad Mallah travelled to the scene on a 125cc motorcycle, while his accomplices, Zafar and Faraz, followed on another motorcycle to provide support and cover. Sajjad opened fire on Aman at the stall before fleeing the scene.The terrorists further disclosed that they had received financial assistance from abroad to create fear and panic in Karachi ahead of August 14.Further interrogation of the arrested terrorists is underway.Investigators are also examining their possible facilitators, overseas contacts, sources of financial support, channels for the supply of weapons and explosives, and any potential involvement in other criminal or terrorist activities."
