LAHORE: Punjab home department has extended the deadline for arms dealers by 10 days to upload all required information on the online digital inventory registration system.
The deadline for registering the existing stock and records of all purchases and sales has now been set for Sept 6, 2026.
All arms dealers will be required to register their complete stocks and sale-purchase records on the online portal by the stipulated date.
A department spokesman says that complete records of all firearms and ammunition held by each arms dealer will be available on the home department’s online portal, along with details of their purchase and sale transactions.
Out of a total 413 registered arms dealers in the province, 230 have already entered their details in the digital inventory system, the spokesman says.
All deputy commissioners (DC) are assisting arms dealers in their respective districts in the registration of their digital inventories.
The decision to extend the deadline was taken at a training workshop organised by home department for arms dealers in Lahore, to provide them guidance on the digital inventory registration system on Tuesday.
Over 350 arms dealers, including those online, participated in the workshop from the offices of the DCs concerned to get themselves acquainted with the digital inventory registration system on the Punjab Arms Licence Portal.
The spokesperson says the online registration of arms stocks and purchase and sale transactions is aimed at eliminating crime from Punjab and curbing the illegal purchase and sale of arms.
“The arms dealers failing to upload their inventories will face legal action, besides suspension of their licenses, sealing of their businesses, and fines imposed in accordance with the law,” the spokesman says.
Home department Additional Secretary (Judicial) Abdul Rauf, Deputy Secretary (Judicial) Muhammad Murtaza and National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) officials provided training to the arms dealers on the use of the online portal and registration of digital inventories during the workshop.
