RAWALPINDI: A case has been registered after a 45-year-old woman was found dead, with her hands bound behind her back, at an apartment in Rawalpindi, it emerged on Saturday.
The first information report (FIR), a copy of which is available with Dawn, was registered on Aug 20 under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the deceased’s brother at Rawalpindi’s Civil Lines police station.
The complainant, identified as Fahad, said that his 45-year-old sister Hina had married her husband in November 2025.
He said that he received a telephone call from his sister’s father-in-law on Thursday morning informing him about an “emergency” at their residence, following which he rushed there along with other family members.
He said that when he arrived at the home, he discovered his sister’s body in the bathroom with her hands bound behind her back, a cloth placed over her mouth and a wire around her neck connected to the shower.
He said that blood was coming out of his sister’s mouth and was also present on the bathroom floor. The complainant asserted that his sister was murdered by her husband, his father and their servant.
Fahad said that foam was also coming out of his sister’s mouth, which raised the suspicion that she may have been given a poisonous substance before being killed.
The complainant further alleged that his sister had been subjected to “severe torture and violence” by her husband and that the latter had also previously abused his first wife, who later obtained a divorce.
