A video circulating on social media shows Khalid Khan behaving inappropriately with security personnel returning from an operation against Khawarij.Sources say that when security forces returned after rescuing a Federal Constabulary official from Khawarij captivity, Khalid Khan and other committee members were already at the officials home and started creating a commotion upon seeing the forces.The committee, led by Khalid Khan, is now seen as a serious threat to peace in Lakki Marwat. Although only a suspended constable, Khalid Khan is acting like the actual DPO of Lakki Marwat. He is building a parallel system of influence within the police, with control over postings and sensitive matters.On 8 August, during a free medical camp organized by the Pakistan Army for locals at Government Boys High School in Nasr Khel, Sarai Naurang, members of the committee led by Khalid Khan allegedly used intimidation to stop residents from accessing the facility.Peace committee president Khalid Khan has managed to get his associates posted to key positions, including SHOs, DSPs, drivers, personnel on critical duties, and in-charge of the armory.The police force is a state institution and not the personal property of any individual or group. The committee and its affiliates also face allegations of spreading anti-state narratives, clashing with state officials, making armed threats, misusing police authority, harassing citizens, kidnapping, extrajudicial targeted killings, use of excessive force, and facilitating criminals.The central question being raised is: who gave a suspended constable the authority to influence key police appointments, access personnel in sensitive roles, and mobilize the police force as he wishes?"
