The name and logo of the new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, acquired by OZ Developers earlier this month and allocated to Sialkot, were finally unveiled on Wednesday.
Sialkot team owner Kamil Khan unveiled βSialkot Stallionzβ as his franchiseβs name today in a social media post.
βExcited to be part of the Pakistan Super League journey,β he wrote on X.
Khan had announced on Tuesday that the name of his franchise would be unveiled at 2β―pm today.
In a separate social media post today, the team announced, βThe wait is over. A new force rises β Sialkot Stallionz.β
Earlier this month, a historic Rs1.85 billion bid from OZ Developers at the PSL franchise auction secured Sialkot as one of the two new teams.
OZ Developers had been in a bidding war with software company i2c before outbidding their Rs1.82 billion offer.
Hyderabad was the other PSL team selected from the allotted cities, winning the franchise for Rs1.75 billion under FKS Group.
This will be Hyderabadβs and Sialkotβs first appearance since the leagueβs inception in 2015, with this yearβs tournament scheduled for March 26 β May 3.
Sialkot Stallionz will join Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Multan Sultans as the other teams in the PSL.
