Shake Hands-II: Pakistan–Sri Lanka Bilateral Counter-Terrorism Exercise

Shake Hands-II is a two-week bilateral counter-terrorism exercise conducted between the armies of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The exercise began on 27 April 2026 at Tarbela, Pakistan, with participants from the Pakistan Army's Special Services Group (SSG) and the Sri Lankan Army's Special Forces. Its primary aim is to enhance professional capabilities through joint training while further strengthening longstanding military-to-military relations between the two nations. Participants will exchange operational experiences and counter-terrorism expertise, contributing to improved interoperability and mutual understanding, and reinforcing cooperation in addressing shared security challenges.
