The pact is seen as a strategic alignment to enhance regional security, counterbalance shifting power dynamics, and consolidate influence in the Middle East and South Asia. Israel has expressed deep concern, viewing this potential alliance as a 'Sunni NATO-like' bloc that could directly threaten its military superiority and geopolitical standing. The deal would mark a significant realignment, bringing together three of the most powerful Muslim-majority countries, each with substantial military capabilities and competing interests. In my opinion, while the pact may be framed as a defensive measure against shared threats like Iran or terrorism, its emergence reflects a broader trend of multipolarization in the region. However, the inclusion of Turkey—a NATO member with increasingly independent foreign policy—and Pakistan—with its nuclear arsenal—complicates the dynamics. For Israel, this could indeed be alarming, as it might tilt the balance of power, especially if the bloc coordinates on issues like Palestine or arms procurement. Nonetheless, internal rivalries and divergent strategic priorities (e.g., Turkey's ambitions vs. Saudi caution) may prevent the alliance from becoming as cohesive as NATO.
