PM Shehbaz Sharif Exposes India's Role in Terrorism at SCO Summit, Leaves Modi Humiliated

BISHKEK - In a powerful address at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered a stinging rebuttal to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accusations, exposing India's involvement in sponsoring terrorism across Pakistan and several other countries.

The exchange left Modi visibly humiliated and speechless in front of fellow leaders from China, Russia, Iran, Turkiye, and other SCO member states.

Modi's Failed Attempt to Corner Pakistan

Modi had attempted to use the SCO platform to isolate Pakistan by delivering a sharp, thinly-veiled attack on Islamabad. Without naming Pakistan directly, Modi declared that "terrorism must not be used as a policy instrument" and that countries which provide "shelter and support to terrorists must be sent a clear message that terror can never be a strategic asset".

Indian media immediately interpreted Modi's remarks as a direct assault on Pakistan, noting that PM Shehbaz was present in the room.

Shehbaz's Devastating Counterattack

PM Shehbaz responded with a masterful counter-offensive that dismantled Modi's narrative completely. He highlighted the immense sacrifices Pakistan has made in the global war on terror, stating that Pakistan has lost over 90,000 lives and endured economic losses exceeding $150 billion over the past 25 years.

"Few nations have fought against the scourge of terrorism as resolutely and valiantly as Pakistan," PM Shehbaz declared, adding that these sacrifices were made "to ensure the security of the entire region".

He then turned the tables on Modi, directly accusing India of using terrorism as a "diplomatic cudgel" and of engaging in "state-sponsored terrorism" through proxies operating against Pakistan.

Exposing Afghanistan-India Terror Nexus

PM Shehbaz also exposed the Afghanistan-India terror nexus, declaring: "Pakistan seeks a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan. But let there be no ambiguity; so long as terrorists continue to use Afghan territory to shed the blood of innocent Pakistanis and other nations, lasting peace will remain beyond our reach".

India has long been accused by Pakistan of using Afghan soil to support groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to destabilize Pakistan.

SCO Declaration Neutralizes India

The SCO summit's final declaration reflected a balanced approach, condemning terrorism without singling out Pakistan. The document also included a provision rejecting the "stigmatization of member states' institutions," which analysts described as a subtle rebuke to India's anti-Pakistan campaign and "a protective shield for Pakistan" against Indian propaganda.

Diplomatic Victory for Pakistan

The confrontation marks yet another diplomatic victory for Pakistan. The SCO has consistently refused to endorse India's narrative against Pakistan, leaving Modi unable to achieve his objective of isolating Islamabad.

Analysts noted that India's foreign policy, which has revolved around demonizing Pakistan, is becoming increasingly irrelevant on the world stage. Pakistan's successful mediation between the US and Iran, along with its growing military and diplomatic stature, has made it "less vulnerable to the accusations that India is used to making".
