RAWALPINDI -Β Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, has reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Pakistan will continue intelligence-based operations underΒ Operation Ghazab-ul-HaqΒ against terrorism originating from areas under Afghan Taliban controlΒ .

The commitment was made during the 276th Corps Commanders' Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the military's top brass reviewed the country's security situation and expressed "serious concerns" over the continued use of Afghan territory by Indian-sponsored terrorist groupsΒ .

Indian-Sponsored Terror Groups Identified

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum specifically identifiedΒ Fitna al Khawarij (FAK)Β andΒ Fitna al Hindustan (FAH)Β as groups allegedly operating from Afghan soil with Indian backing to orchestrate attacks inside PakistanΒ .

The military leadership stressed that "lasting peace and stability in the region is contingent upon preventing the use of Afghan Taliban-controlled territory by Indian terrorist proxies," adding that the Afghan Taliban regime bears direct responsibilityΒ .

Pakistan's Right to Self-Defense

The forum reaffirmed that Pakistan possesses anΒ "unequivocal right to defend its people from terrorism"Β and that the Armed Forces "shall continue Intelligence Based Operations against terrorism emanating from Afghan Taliban controlled territory under the ambit of Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq"Β .

In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Munir directed military commanders to "accelerate the implementation of the armed forces' multi-domain transformation plan" and maintain the highest levels of vigilance, operational readiness, and professionalism to counter conventional, sub-conventional, and hybrid threatsΒ .

Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq Intensifies

Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq has been ongoing for several months, with recent operations intensifying in response to multiple terrorist attacks inside PakistanΒ .

In late June, security forces conducted intelligence-based ground operations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, followed by calibrated airstrikes that killed 29 militants and destroyed hideouts in Afghanistan's Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provincesΒ . Among those eliminated was high-value Khwarij commander Khan FaroshΒ .

The operation has also destroyed key technical support infrastructure, communication facilities, and equipment depots used by militant networks to plan cross-border attacksΒ .

Afghanistan-Taliban Responsibility

Pakistan has repeatedly called upon the Afghan Taliban regime to take verifiable action against terrorist groups operating from its soilΒ . However, officials maintain that the Taliban has "failed to undertake any substantive action" against these groupsΒ .
