According to security sources, the device was a rudimentary unmanned aerial vehicle that was neutralized using electronic countermeasures before it could reach its intended target. No shots were fired, and authorities confirmed there were no casualties, injuries, or property damage from the incident.

Officials attributed the drone to Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), a banned militant group that Pakistani authorities allege functions as a proxy for the Afghan Taliban. They described the episode as another in a string of failed drone attempts originating across the border in Afghanistan.

Security agencies said they are examining recovered material from the drone and investigating the circumstances of the attempted intrusion.
