"Pakistan Rejects UNAMA's Distorted Record on Counterterrorism OperationsUNAMA again parrots Taliban Regime propaganda on so called civilian casualties.Afghan Taliban Regime continues to maintain a permissive environment for TTP, BLA and their affiliates, allowing access to bases, sanctuaries, recruitment, financing and execution of cross-border attacks.TTP continues to launch terrorist attacks on Pakistani security personnel and citizens from Afghan soil under watch, patronage and active facilitation of Afghan Taliban Regime. Cross-border terrorist attacks emanating from Afghan soil have martyred over 900 Pakistanis and injured more than 1,500 others across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.In February 2026, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab Lil Haq to neutralize terrorist outfits and logistical support bases in Afghanistan in response to repeated TTP and BLA attacks emanating from Afghan soil.Pakistan's actions were undertaken in exercise of its right to self-defence to ensure safety and security of its citizens and the wider region.During MayJune 2026, Pakistan was targeted by multiple TTP attacks, including attacks in Peshawar, North Waziristan and Bannu.Pakistan conducted selective precision strikes against TTP camps, training centres, hideouts, ammunition caches and Marakiz of TTP commanders Aleem Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Janikhel, neutralizing 26 terrorists.Investigation into 27 June 2026 Karachi attack confirmed that three of the four perpetrators were Afghan nationals and that the attack was planned by terrorists residing in Afghanistan, resulting in the martyrdom of three Pakistani soldiers and injuries to four others.Pakistan carried out intelligence-based precision strikes against Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and TTP sanctuaries, destroying three terrorist sanctuaries, eliminating 25 terrorists, and destroying large quantities of weapons and ammunition.Pakistan's military strikes adhered to principles of distinction and proportionality under international law and exclusively targeted identified terrorist hideouts, sanctuaries and support infrastructure.Pakistan reserves right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety and security of its citizens based on the principles of necessity and as a measure of last resort.Despite repeated requests to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, Afghan soil continues to be used for infiltration into Pakistan, while the involvement of Afghan nationals in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan remains a matter of serious concern.Pakistan strongly condemns the facilitation extended to terrorists by Afghan Taliban Regime and once again calls upon it to act as a responsible member of the international community.@UNAMAnews @StateDeptCT @StateDept @PakistanPR_UN @UN"
