Pakistan Marks Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq: Navy Demonstrates Strategic Readiness, Special Access Granted to Sensitive Installations

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Monday commemorated the first anniversary of Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq (The Battle of Truth), the four-day conflict with India in May 2025, with nationwide ceremonies, military parades, and unprecedented access granted to the strategic operations of the Pakistan Navy.

Observed on May 10, the day of the retaliatory Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, the anniversary saw senior civilian and military leaders praise the armed forces' response to Indian aggression, which began after the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people .

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari led the main ceremony in Karachi, emphasizing that the victory was not merely military but a "triumph of national unity" . "From the mountains of the north to the shores of the Arabian Sea, Pakistan stood as one," Bilawal said, adding that the nation is "not one that bows" .

Pakistan Navy: The Sentinel of the Arabian Sea

A focal point of the anniversary was the Pakistan Navy's demonstration of enhanced combat readiness. Officials highlighted that false Indian propaganda claiming attacks on Karachi Port had failed, as the Navy remained "fully alert" throughout the conflict .

In a rare move, the Navy granted special media access to its forward operating bases in coastal regions, showcasing:

• Naval Strategic Command Assets: Including submarines capable of deploying the Babur-3 nuclear-capable cruise missile.

• Karachi Port Security: Displaying advanced drone defense systems and rapid response units that neutralized threats during the May 2025 emergency.

• Coastal Surveillance Network: Highlighting the newly operational Coastal Command that monitors the 1,050 km coastline.

"The Navy is our second line of deterrence. They ensured our sea lines of communication remained intact even when the enemy made aggressive gestures," said a defense analyst briefed on the protocols.

Strategic Infrastructure & Rocket Force Command

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who unveiled the Army Rocket Force Command during the independence day celebrations last August, reiterated that the victory in Marka-e-Haq had cemented Pakistan's position as a key player in global conflict resolution, particularly citing its recent mediation between the US and Iran .

The new Rocket Force Command, one of the world's only such specialized nuclear and conventional missile commands, was integrated with naval protocols this year to ensure a "full-spectrum" deterrent posture across land and sea.

Nationwide Festivities

Ceremonies were held at the Ganda Singh Border in Kasur, where thousands gathered to wave flags and chant slogans . Universities across Sindh held rallies, while the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a special anthem, "Hum Chhaye Toofano Andhiyon Ki Tarah", to honor the sacrifices of the armed forces .

Special Access & Media Embargo

In a departure from standard procedure, the government authorized select media personnel to visit the Naval Dockyard in Karachi, the headquarters of the Navy's strategic force. However, strict security protocols prevented broadcasting of real-time asset positioning. Officials confirmed these visits were arranged to "counter misinformation circulating after the war."
