Pakistan has activated its first indigenously developed GaN-based AESA radar, the AM-350S, on the eastern border. In my view, this advancement reflects a broader push toward strategic autonomy and a modernized deterrence posture, but it should be accompanied by robust risk management, clear export controls, and confidence-building measures to prevent miscalculation in a tense regional environment.
