"Visit of National Media to Quetta, Balochistan A delegation of 30 senior media persons and journalists visited Quetta where they had interaction with Provincial Authoritties on various matters related to security, peace and development being confronted. In his interaction with media persons, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti (@PakSarfrazbugti )said that the fight against terrorism would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated from Balochistan.He said that the civil and military leadership remained united and fully aligned in the fight against terrorism, with no ambiguity or confusion over the policy.Referring to the law-and-order situation, the Chief Minister repeatedly emphasised that we are in a state of war and had never claimed that everything in Balochistan was normal. The security forces were performing their duties under extremely difficult conditions in the province. The Chief Minister said that all state institutions were working in complete coordination against terrorism.He categorically ruled out negotiations with terrorists, those who had taken up arms against Pakistan and those raising slogans for the countrys disintegration. He said that armed and proscribed organisations such as the BLA, as well as those raising anti-Pakistan slogans, could not be permitted to operate. The Chief Minister said that armed action was now the only remaining option and that the time had come for major surgery. On the battle of narratives, he said that a record did not have to be popular; what mattered was whether it was based on truth and righteousness.The Chief Minister said that the provincial government was working on the Provincial Action Plan, police reforms, the integration of the Levies Force into the police, the Safe City project, legislation and improved coordination among law-enforcement agencies.He said that governing the entire province from Quetta was not possible. If new provinces were created in Balochistan, they should be established on administrative rather than ethnic grounds.He said that he could not claim the complete elimination of corruption but maintained that corruption in Balochistan had declined compared with the past. Measures were being taken to ensure merit in educational institutions and across government departments.The Chief Minister said that development projects in Balochistan had been completed in record time compared with the past. The provincial government remained focused on making development effective, result-oriented and aligned with public needs. He said that measures were being taken to use Balochistans mineral resources more effectively to generate economic and other benefits for the people of the province.Referring to the repatriation of foreign nationals, he said that 1.1 million Afghan refugees and other foreign nationals had been returned from Balochistan to their respective countries.On missing persons, the Chief Minister said that the issue had sometimes been presented by the national media and on other forums without the correct context, preventing an accurate picture of the situation from emerging.Earlier, the journalists also visited Quetta Corps Headquarters where senior security officials interacted with them on prevailing security situation, challenges confronted and measures being undertaken to restore stability. The official said that operations will continue till the complete elimination of terrorists from Balochistan. He said that Balochistans development journey would continue alongside efforts to maintain peace and security. The media delegation also viewed weapons and ammunition recovered from terrorists and subsequently visited Combined Military Hospital Quetta where people and security personnel injured during various acts of terrorism were undergoing treatment."
