"The Report of Mangi Dam Post Pumping Station 3, Terrorist Attack ▪️This terrorist attack is indeed tragic due to the very unfortunate outcome, however the Balochistan Police fought extremely well. Post event, as always is the case, a great deal of planted material is now being spread by enemies of peace and people with all kinds of agendas. It is imperative therefore that facts be brought out in the correct sequence. ▪️On the morning of 6 July, a police contingent of about 35 personnel was deployed at the Pumping Station 3 under a DSP. The strength had been recently enhanced because intelligence agencies had already passed a threat warning. The nearest post was an FC Post manned by around 20 personnel, at a distance of about 20 kilometres. ▪️At around 11 in the day that morning, the Pumping Station post reported occasional distant fire. The post had recently been staffed and equipped well. The post reported distant fire but the officer commanding maintained that its strength was sufficient. The men kept holding their position and Police Headquarters and FC Wing remained in contact throughout. ▪️As a precaution, the Police Headquarters sent reinforcements — a specialised force of about 35 was despatched to reinforce the post. In addition, the Frontier Corps diverted an armed helicopter for aerial reconnaissance and support which remained over the area for a good hour and half or so. ▪️The terrorist intent behind the intermittent fire had been to force the post to expend its ammunition and by dusk the post had indeed consumed much of it. ▪️When the reinforcement reached closer, they came under fire and stopped short of the Post under attack. FC in tandem with it flew VTOLs and engaged with mortars under which the reinforcement moved forward. ▪️by this time after sun set terrorists launched a physical attack and closed in on the post. During the fight that ensued between the brave police boys standing ground and the approaching police and FC reinforcements, 15 terrorists were Eliminated however nine brave policemen at the post embraced Shahdat while three got injured which were evacuated once FC / Police reinforcements physically reached there. Since the post had run out of ammunition, the remainder of the post ( DSP along with 28 police personal) made an attempt to slip away in the darkness in two groups. ▪️out of these two groups, the one headed by DSP itself made good however the other one of 18 bumped into Kharjis during night and taken as hostage. ▪️The geography of the area is very difficult — high mountains, folds and deep crevices, where engagements are only at close quarters and observation is highly limited. The FC and police move was under distant fire and has to be painfully slow due to numerous ambush sites. FC and Army are conducting a comprehensive combing operation in the whole area spread over more than three hindered square kilometres of jagged Rocky Mountains. Another eight terrorists have been so far killed in the engagements and the operation will continue till all terrorists are killed. ▪️Meanwhile, vested political interests are spreading their own version of events. The plain fact is that the police post held as long as it could, the FC and police reinforcements moved with agility and boldness, and the men fought well, so well that we as Nation are indebted and proud forever"
