9 Brave Policemen Martyred, 15 Terrorists Killed in Ziarat Checkpost Attack

ZIARAT, BALOCHISTAN - In a tragic and heroic encounter, nine police personnel embraced martyrdom while defending their post against a coordinated terrorist attack in the Kach Mangi Phase-3 area of Ziarat district on the night of 6 July 2026. Police successfully repulsed the assault, killing 15 terrorists in the exchange of fire .

According to Ziarat Superintendent of Police Abdul Quddus, heavily armed militants launched an attack on the police checkpost, triggering an intense exchange of gunfire that continued throughout the night. The police personnel displayed exceptional courage and determination, holding their ground against the attackers .

"Nine police personnel, including two Station House Officers (SHOs), embraced martyrdom in the line of duty," SP Quddus confirmed. The martyred officers were identified as:

• Muhammad Hussain, SHO Mangi

• Sohbat Khan, SHO Kowas

• Seven other police personnel 

Security Response and Terrorist Elimination

Security forces and additional police contingents were immediately deployed to the area following the attack. A search and clearance operation is currently underway to secure the surrounding region and track down any remaining attackers .

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack, describing the perpetrators as "Indian-backed terrorists" and paying tribute to the martyred policemen . Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating: "The sacrifices of our martyrs will never go in vain, and the nation will always remember them" .

The attack follows a pattern of escalating militant violence in Balochistan, where groups designated as Fitna-al-Khawarij (FAK) and Fitna-al-Hindustan (FAH) - both identified by Pakistani authorities as Indian-sponsored terrorist networks - have intensified their operations against security forces and civilian targets .
