"On 7 August 2026, Security Forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Hangu District, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna Al Khwarij.During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged khwarij location. In desperation, Khwarij took refuge inside a mosque, blatantly disregarding the sanctity of the place of worship. In ensuing fire exchange, seven khwarij, belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij were sent to hell. However, during the intense fire exchange, Captain Hamza Akram (age: 27 years, resident of District Narowal), a brave officer, who was leading his troops from front and relentlessly pursuing the Khwarij, fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies as well as killing of innocent civilians.Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision Azm-e-Istehkam (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further reinforce our unwavering commitment of safeguarding our nation at all costs."
On August 7, 2026, Pakistan's Security Forces executed a well-coordinated intelligence-based operation in the Hangu District following credible reports of the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian Proxy group, Fitna Al Khwarij. This operation reflects Pakistan's ongoing efforts to strengthen national security and combat terrorism.
During the operation, forces engaged effectively with the terrorists, who took refuge in a mosque. This disregard for the sanctity of a place of worship raises serious concerns about the tactics employed by these groups. The operation resulted in the elimination of seven militants, disrupting their ongoing terrorist activities against Security Forces and innocent civilians. Tragically, Captain Hamza Akram, a dedicated officer aged 27 from District Narowal, lost his life in the line of duty, exemplifying the ultimate sacrifice made by many brave soldiers in Pakistan's fight against terrorism.
The operation has been viewed as a clear stance by Pakistan against terrorism, particularly regarding foreign-sponsored elements operating within its borders. Many nations appreciate Pakistan's commitment to counter-terrorism as it seeks to foster a safer regional environment. The collective international commitment to combatting terrorism could lead to increased cooperation and assistance in intelligence sharing, fortifying Pakistan's efforts further.
The sanitization operation following the engagement aims to ensure that any remaining threats are neutralized. Under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, as endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, Pakistan's Security Forces continue to prioritize the eradication of foreign-supported terrorism. Such operations, combined with the heroism displayed by officers like Captain Akram, reinforce the nation's commitment to peace and stability. The ongoing resolve of Security Forces and Law Enforcement ensures that Pakistan remains vigilant in safeguarding its sovereignty and protecting its citizens from the menace of terrorism.
