PESHAWAR - Pakistan's security forces continue to conduct successful intelligence-based operations (IBOs) under Operation 11 Garaj in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eliminating multiple Afghan Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists and destroying their hideouts in Lakki Marwat and surrounding areas .

According to security sources, during IBOs in Lakki Marwat, security forces engaged Fitna al-Khawarij in multiple encounters, killing several terrorists and destroying their hideouts . A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and other equipment was recovered from the eliminated terrorists .

Precision Airstrikes and Ground Operations

In a recent successful operation under Operation 11 Garaj, security forces eliminated three terrorists, including two key commanders identified as Shakir alias "Malang Ashna" and Haris alias "Zarrar" . The operation was executed through a coordinated strategy combining ground forces with effective deployment of air assets, enabling accurate targeting of terrorist hideouts and disruption of their operational networks .

Security forces are conducting ground and quadcopter-assisted aerial operations, forcing terrorists to abandon their positions and retreat from populated areas . A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) have been recovered and destroyed during the operations .

A Sustained Counterterrorism Campaign

Operation 11 Garaj has been ongoing for the past two months, with security forces arresting facilitators of terrorists and recovering a large cache of arms and ammunition . Over this period, security forces have conducted multiple IBOs across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including:

• Operation in Lakki Marwat: Several terrorists eliminated, hideouts destroyed, and weapons recovered 

• Operation in Bajaur: Multiple militants killed, IEDs destroyed, and hideouts targeted 

• Operations in Khyber district: Eight terrorists killed in Darbi Khel and Batan areas 

The campaign is being conducted under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country .

Afghan Fitna al-Khawarij Designation

The militants targeted in these operations belong to Fitna al-Khawarij - the state-designated term for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and allied groups . Security officials have identified these groups as Indian-backed proxy networks operating from Afghan soil to launch attacks inside Pakistan .

According to UN Security Council reports and Pakistan's security assessments, an estimated 4,000 to 6,000 Fitna al-Khawarij fighters are operating from Afghan soil with the support of the Afghan Taliban regime .

Security Forces' Resolve Unshaken

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for their successful IBOs, praising their "outstanding professionalism, exceptional bravery, and high operational standards" .

Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until lasting peace is restored and terrorism is completely eradicated .
