AJK Police IG Liaqat Ali Malik's Powerful Tribute to His Brave Force

MUZAFFARABAD - Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police Inspector General Captain (Retd) Liaqat Ali Malik has delivered a stirring tribute to his officers, honoring their courage and sacrifices in the face of violent opposition from the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) .

In his powerful address, IG Malik highlighted the extraordinary bravery of his personnel who have faced armed militants while protecting public order. His words underscored the ultimate sacrifice made by officers who stood their ground despite facing direct fire.

"They took bullets to the chest. Kashmir is Pakistan, and Pakistan is Kashmir."

The tribute comes in the wake of violent clashes in Rawalakot on June 7, where four law enforcement personnel were martyred and more than 20 others were injured after armed members of the banned JAAC opened fire on security forces . Authorities described the incident as a "coordinated armed attack" rather than a peaceful protest, with IG Malik condemning it as an act of terrorism .

Standing Firm Against Anti-State Elements

IG Malik has been unwavering in his commitment to maintaining law and order in the region. He has firmly rejected any negotiations with violent groups, stating that sitting at the negotiation table with those who have martyred police officers is "unimaginable" .

"We cannot extend leniency to those who have killed our officers. There is no room for any political solution with such oppressors." 

The police chief has emphasized that the protection of lives and property of the people of Azad Kashmir remains the force's top priority, and that no mischievous group will be allowed to destroy the peace and tranquility of the region .

Escalating Crackdown

Under IG Malik's leadership, law enforcement has intensified operations against Indian-backed elements. Police have arrested over 572 miscreants so far, with 155 dangerous individuals placed in the Fourth Schedule . The crackdown has targeted the JAAC network, which authorities have linked to foreign funding and external handlers .

Honoring the Martyrs

IG Malik has consistently paid tribute to the officers who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The police chief noted that more than 95 of his personnel have been injured in ongoing operations, many suffering bullet wounds . Despite these losses, he has vowed that the force will continue its mission to protect the citizens of Azad Kashmir.

"We will uphold the rule of law at all costs. The enemy's network is being dismantled."
